A Colourful Palette of Experience

Leanne is originally from New Zealand but has been in Australia permanently for 9 years. She now happily resides with her partner in Mission Beach, Far North Queensland (just south of Cairns).

Leanne has had 19 years experience in office environments working in many industries and roles. She has worked as an Executive Assistant to several executives in corporate multinational companies to project and office management and accounting within small to medium businesses. This ability to adapt and be flexible in each environment is key to her success, as well as her hard working, reliable and positive work attitude.

She originally studied a certificate in office management and has continued to upskill over the years doing business, accounting, time management, life coaching courses.  The majority of her knowledge and skills however, have been built on practical experience and application.

She learns, transforms and helps others very quickly and combined with her speed and ability with computers can put a fresh perspective on the most frustrating and time consuming administrative process.

She has absorbed and learnt from those around her and made it her key intention to understand all areas of a business, in whatever industry she found herself in, then pass on her knowledge to help others.

Leanne has worked with some key business mentors in highly successful companies and also with struggling leaders in chaotic businesses, all of which taught her something valuable, whether it was about how to succeed or where to improve.

Leanne has travelled Australasia extensively and worked in Hamilton, Auckland and Wellington in New Zealand to Perth, Sydney, Darwin, Cairns and remote mining communities in Australia.

Prior to going into business 7 years ago, Leanne worked in roles including: office management, project management, bookkeeping/accounting/payroll, HR Co-ordination, Executive/Personal Assistant, reception, general admin and more.

She has worked across many industries including: Construction (predominantly) Advertising, Media, Television, Publishing, Real Estate, Recruitment, Interior Design (commercial & residential), Sport, Hospitality, Tourism, Education, Mining, Government/Defence, Horse Racing, Transport/Freight, Council, Agriculture, Primary Production, Health & Wellbeing, Plumbing, Finance, Retail + more.

With a Passion

Leanne's greatest passion has always been to transform businesses from chaos to efficiency through her advanced computer knowledge and speed (90 wpm), fast business mapping mind and genuine intention to empower businesses to succeed. Even if it was just beautifying an environment with structure and pride, she has always found a way to add value and leave a place better off for having her in it.

She always liked to create an enjoyable working environment and her aim, in addition to adding great structure and systems is to try and make work feel more like play, whether through background music or promoting positive social working relationships.

Bringing it altogether

Leanne set up Fresh Perspective in 2006 because she knew no dedicated role existed full time within the companies that she could help. She has spent the last 7 years doing exactly what she loves and helping to empower business owners to add structure and gain a new perspective towards their approach to daily business.

Her involvement in the construction industry has had a particularly strong influence on her and the incredible challenges that she has witnessed construction companies experience has inspired her to dedicate specific time and energy into being of direct assistance to this industry.

Life Coach

Leanne also draws on her Life Coaching accreditation to support her emphasis on encouraging a healthy work/life balance and ensuring that passion and enjoyment are key factors in any place of work.

When builders embark on an exciting new construction business they often feel confident and self assured of success based on their understanding of the industry.  After being involved in construction for many years they feel they are more than capable and will draw on their knowledge and skills learnt in their chosen trade.

In order to attain a BSA Builders Licence a management course is compulsary and builders/contractors learn the basics of financial management, however the reality of what is involved can be overwhelming and suddenly the realisation dawns that they are in way over their heads.

Once the business is up and running and several jobs are in progress, it is very easy for the logistical and financial workload to overwhelm the most organised person!

Despite specific skills and knowledge, not everyone has such extensive financial, time and people management experience which are crucial components of a successful construction business.

Who do i turn to?

It's all very well and good to go looking for support but if there is no one specifically available to provide a real, immediate, effective solution, getting the help that you want can prove to be a minefield.

Construction experts and software often caters to large scale commercial construction companies and both can be unrealistically expensive.

You would really just love to sneak into another construction company and see what they do to find the answer, good luck with that one!

Where do you turn to if you are a small business and need someone hands on to transform your current systems into something manageable and effective at a reasonable price?

Process Improvement

Business & Finance Manager (short term project)

Often people employ more staff because they feel they may be under resourced but it may just be that the office is not as efficient as it could be. You often need to review your existing processes and implement new systems to help create the structure required to support your business efficiently.

I can help you in the short term to get clear about where you could make some changes and help you to transform from where you are to where you need to be.

Then when you are more organised and the systems are in place you can more accurately determine what staff or support you need in the long term.

My aim is always to empower the business owner to be self sufficient. With the knowledge to help them achieve their goals in a more streamlined efficient way. I don't want them to rely on me, I want them to feel confident of the structure and systems in place and rely on them.
